bisexual_uk is a community for bisexuals and their allies in the United Kingdom. It aims to be a safe, welcoming space in which we can discuss issues relevant to bi people, the bi community, and other LGBT matters.
Who is the community for? The community welcomes anyone who identifies as bisexual, bicurious, not-really-straight, not-really-gay, none of the above, or all of the above. Whether you use the label "bisexual" or not, if you are attracted to both men and women, this community is for you. Polyamorous and monogamous people are equally welcome. In addition, those who are questioning their sexuality are also welcome, as are our bi-friendly allies from the heterosexual and gay communities. Members of any age and gender are welcomed.
What is the purpose of the community? To provide a safe, informal space in which we can discuss matters relevant to our lives, and make friends. For example, posts may include discussion of social events, political issues, or general conversations about bisexuality, coming out, and suchlike. Members may post public posts, or, for increased privacy, can post friends-only so that only members of the community can read. In order to try to keep the space safe, membership will be moderated to weed out apparent trolls. If you are denied membership but feel that the community is the right place for you, feel free to email one of the moderators.
What are the posting rules? In no particular order:
bisexual_uk is, first and foremost, a safe space. Members may come from all walks of life and may have very different experiences and points of view. Please remain civil to other members and refrain from personal attacks. Outright bigotry (racism, sexism, homophobia and heterophobia, for example) will not be tolerated.
Following on from the previous rule, absolutely no sexually explicit material or personals will be permitted. There is a place and time for such things; this community is not the place.
If a post is made friends-only, it is for the eyes of other community members only. Please do not discuss its contents with others. Confidentiality may be important to the original poster.
Please keep posts both broadly on-topic and of the sort that can spark discussion.
In the interests of readability, please use correct spelling, punctuation and capital letters as well as you are able, and don't use tiny fonts.
Please don't promote other communities without the permission of the moderators.
New members are encouraged to make an introductory post to the community.
